Your lovely hostessChances are that if you’ve found this website, you already know who I am, so all that biographical information that people have to post on sites where people who don’t know them arrive is clearly unnecessary.

So, assuming that you know what I've been doing for the past few years, here are some things you may not know about me:

  • In case you were worried that you had the most biblical name ever, never fear, your first name isn't Miriam and your middle name isn't Rebecca.
  • In high school, I played the French Horn and held a school record for race walking.
  • I was a vegetarian from when I was 11 until I was 26. Then I moved to the South. Now I eat hamburgers and I am a happier person.
Here's the official bio in case you need it though: A native of New York, Miriam Parker's fiction has been published in 14 Hills and Wilma!. Her story "Pardon My Doll" is forthcoming in The Florida Review. Her non-fiction has been published in the anthology 2Do Before I Die, The Brooklyn Rail, the New York Press, Blacktable.com, Elle.com, and BustedHalo.com. She works as an internet publicist for fiction books, teaches creative writing and is the Associate Editor of Ecotone, a literary journal devoted to writing about place. She currently lives in Wilmington, North Carolina where she is working on her novel, Rosenvasser's Ghost.
